Frog jumping contest, other events at Colton Country day July 19
The 25th annual Colton Country Day is set for Saturday, July 19. The theme this year is The Year of the Frog.
Registration for the annual “bring your own frog”
jumping contest will start at 9:30 a.m. near Zion Episcopal Church. The contest starts at 10 a.m.
The Colton Museum will have an open house and will feature local author Dale Burnett and his book, “Hopkinton: The Second Hundred Years.”
The fire department’s chicken barbecue starts at 11 at the fire station, and games for children start at the same time.
At noon, the Senior Citizen Singers perform, and at 2 p.m. it’s The Barbershoppers, at the bandstand.
The ice cream social and entertainment start at 7 p.m. at the firemen’s field, where, after dark, there will be a fireworks show.
All day there will be a large flea market and craft fair, a school alumni tables, a used book sale in Town Hall, concessions stands and entertainment.
