PREPS: Country Day center Riley is headed to Georgetown
Birmingham Detroit Country Day junior center DaShonte Riley has committed to play basketball for Georgetown.
Riley, 6-feet-11 and 220 pounds, visited Georgetown last fall and again recently with his mother, Colette Anderson. Riley said he was attracted to the Big East school because of its reputation for developing big men.
"It was a good decision for him,"
Country Day coach Kurt Keener said Wednesday. "I think he will do very well there."
Considered a top 20 recruit by Rivals.com for the Class of 2009, Riley had numerous offers -- including from Michigan and Michigan State.
